Bay Area home remodelingKitchens · Baths · Additions · ADUs
Kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home remodels, additions and ADUs across the Bay Area — planned properly, permitted, and finished by a crew that shows up. See the work first, then let's talk about yours.
Why homeowners call us
Remodeling goes wrong in the planning, not the finishing. So we spend the time up front — scope, sequence, permits, materials — and then we start swinging hammers.
California Construction Bay Area Inc. is a San Jose–based general contractor handling residential, commercial and industrial work. One team oversees the project from the first walkthrough to the final punch list, so you always know who to call and what happens next.
- 01A written scope before demo. Every line item, allowance and exclusion in writing, so "extras" don't appear halfway through.
- 02We pull the permits. Plans, city submittals and inspections handled by us, not left on your kitchen table.
- 03One point of contact. The same person who quoted the job answers your texts during it.
- 04The site gets cleaned daily. Dust barriers, floor protection, and a broom-clean space at the end of the day.
- 05Change orders in writing, in advance. Price and schedule impact approved before anyone proceeds.

Capabilities
What we take on
Full-service general contracting — one license, one crew, one schedule, whether it's a single bathroom or a ground-up build.
Kitchen remodeling
Layout-first kitchens built around how you actually cook, not around what the old plan allowed.
- Wall, plumbing and electrical reconfiguration
- Cabinetry, countertops and tile installation
- Appliance, venting and lighting coordination
- Permits and inspections included
Bathroom remodeling
The room where shortcuts cost the most. Waterproofing gets done right or the finishes don't matter.
- Full waterproofing systems behind tile
- Curbless showers, tubs and wet areas
- Vanities, storage and ventilation
- Plumbing and electrical rough-in to finish
Whole-home remodels
Phased so you can stay in the house where that's realistic — and told straight when it isn't.
- Scope, sequencing and phasing plan
- Structural and code upgrades
- Trade coordination under one schedule
- Single punch list at the end
ADUs & additions
Added square footage — detached ADUs, garage conversions, bump-outs and second stories.
- Feasibility and setback review before design
- Plans, city submittal and permitting
- Foundation, framing and utilities
- Complete interior finish-out
New construction
Ground-up residential, commercial and industrial projects, built to code and to plan.
- Site prep, foundation and framing
- Full trade management
- Inspection scheduling and sign-off
- Owner walkthroughs at each milestone
Roofing
Repairs, replacement and inspections — including the flashing and ventilation details that cause most leaks.
- Leak detection and targeted repair
- Full tear-off and replacement
- Standing-seam metal and tile systems
- Ventilation and underlayment correction
Windows & doors
Measured, prepped and weather-detailed so the opening performs as well as it looks.
- Like-for-like replacement without full remodel
- New and enlarged openings
- Weather-resistive detailing and flashing
- Interior and exterior trim finishing
Flooring
Subfloor first. Everything you see afterwards depends on what's underneath it.
- Subfloor prep, leveling and moisture checks
- Hardwood, engineered, LVP and tile
- Stairs, transitions and pattern work
- Baseboard and finish carpentry
How a project runs
Six stages, no surprises
You'll know what's happening this week, what's happening next week, and what it costs before it happens.
Walkthrough
We come out, look at the actual conditions, and talk through what you want, what's realistic, and roughly what that range costs.
Scope & proposal
A written scope with line items, material allowances and exclusions — plus what we'd recommend spending more or less on.
Design & selections
Layouts confirmed and finishes selected early, so long-lead items are ordered before demo instead of after.
Permits
We prepare and submit the drawings, carry the city correspondence, and schedule the inspections.
Build
Protection goes down, trades run in sequence, and you get progress updates plus a daily-clean site.
Punch & close
We walk the job with you, list every last item, finish them, and hand over documentation and warranties from manufacturers.

About the company

Spotlight
ADUs & additions
The highest-value square footage in the Bay Area is usually the space you don't have yet. We handle detached ADUs, garage conversions, bump-outs and second stories — starting with a feasibility check so you know what your lot allows before you pay for design.
- 01Feasibility first. Lot size, setbacks, utilities and access reviewed before drawings.
- 02Plans and permitting. Drawings prepared and submitted; we handle the city back-and-forth.
- 03Shell to finish. Foundation, framing, utilities, then a full kitchen, bath and interior finish-out.
- 04Built to be used. Whether it's family, rental income, or an office — the layout follows the plan for it.
